We didn't pass......
Christy finally called to tell us that we did not pass court last Thursday. Olivia's birth mother has two last names (which is common in the southern region of Ethiopia) but the paperwork that the court had only stated one last name. Now she has to travel home (I think it is like a 7 hour bus ride) and get her paperwork sorted out and then travel back to the capital in order for the judge to finalize our adoption. Please pray for us while we wait yet again. I just want to bring my baby girl home.

i am so sorry. i can't imagine your sadness and frustration. i hope it can be sorted out very quickly!!
I'm sorry Dee Dee. I know this is so frustrating.
DeeDee,
I am sorry this happened. I can totally relate to everything you are feeling right now. I think the first day I was so disappointed that I pretty much broke down crying every hour or so. I am praying for you. That God will show you his glory in this situation. That he will give you strength to have faith in Him. -Amber
We're praying here too! I am SO sorry!
Do you have to wait for another court date? Or just that she has to travel all the way back with the right paperwork??? So sorry...I was really hoping for great news for all of you. Praying it will go quickly!
I don't know why I always doubt, but God's timing is perfect ... even though I didn't think it was for us, I now see it was.
I have a feeling everything will come together at the same time and you'll be getting your girl next month ... that's what we'll be praying for!
Dee Dee. :( I am sorry. Thinking about you guys and will pray that this gets sorted out FAST.
Your family is in my prayers.
A 7 hr bus drive may sound difficult and like a huge hurdle for the birth mother, but remember that Ethiopians have such strong wills to survive and to ensure that their children are well taken care of....they can probably endure a LOT more than what we can. They are such strong people and they put their children first...so I will pray that she is motivated and has the strength to continue to do what is best for her child/your child. You have Julie and Almaz right there in Ethiopia with your daughter doing all that they can. Rest in the palm of God's hand and let your worries go. There is nothing that you can do but pray and find peace in knowing that we do not have control of this. (Remind me of this when I need it).

That's good you don't have to wait for a court date, but still disappointing. I'm so sorry you have to wait for this and will be praying for you!
I'm so sorry. I know how hard it can be to not pass court. I'm hoping and praying that things get worked out soon.
I'm sorry you have to wait longer. The one thing I know is that your little girl is worth waiting for. Praying you get some good news soon.
DeeDee, I am so sorry. I remember what that felt like. The waiting is so hard. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
oh...I'm so sorry..I will give your girly extra big hugs this weekend and tell her how much her mommy loves her...I just know you'll get good news soon...So sorry for the delays...Delays really stink...Our court date was pushed back that 12 days and it was hard just waiting the extra 12 days...praying for you guys, Kristi
So glad the Lord spoke to you about "waiting" for something good to prepare you for this wait. I will continue to pray for this to go quickly!

I am so sorry. I know you are crushed....your lil sweetie needs to come home and get settled in with her new family. I will pray that her bmom gets all her paperwork sorted as fast as she can. what a bummer, over something so simple. ((hugs))
Praying for a quick resolution and peace while you wait!
