Some CUTE Pictures

Ok so I know that you are just dying to see some pictures of my oh so cute family:)

Ahh a boy and his monkey and a chocolate sprinkled donut. Could life get any better?

Oh and by the way, I am looking into other agencies. Thanks for recommending some! AGCI looks pretty good so I am requesting some more info. I thought more about AAI and it looks like the time frame would be almost the same as they have a little longer wait than Gladney. Also getting nervous about putting the house on the market....pretty sure I am close to a minor nervous breakdown:)

Love the pictures DeeDee. They all turned out great! I think any of the three agencies you mentioned would be great. We are currently with AAI and love them so far, just waiting for our court date. I personally love AGCI and what they are about, they just were a little too expensive for us. Good luck in your decision.

I'm sorry I'm choosing to remain anonymous here. I have never left a comment without using my name. But I wanted to comment about AGCI and give you a different perspective. My husband and I used them for our adoption. We've been home with our child for close to a year.

We had a bad experience with them and wouldn't recommend them. We thought they were the perfect fit for us and wanted to support them in their mission. We had a very difficult, emotionally draining experience with them.

The problem was that we were told something different frequently and when we questioned things, we got the run around. When you are adopting, you trust your case manager and hang on what they are telling you. Its especially difficult when you are waiting to get conflicting stories and be unable to hold someone accountable for what they say. It makes the process much more difficult.

The families that we traveled with had similar issues. None of us wanted to say anything. We just wanted to get our babies home.

In the end, we have a beautiful, perfect baby boy. So it all worked out. But if I had to do it over, I would not have used them.

I would highly recommend Bethany Christian Services. I work for a non-profit that works with them and they are wonderful and their fees aren't outrageous. We have started our second adoption, this time from Africa. Unfortunately, it will be a private adoption or we'd be using Bethany for sure.

Also, advice for anyone choosing an agency. other than lots of research, I highly recommend working with someone who has personally adopted themselves. The founders of AGCI have but their case workers have not. Working with someone who knows the emotional rollercoaster of adoption is priceless. They understand because they've been there and they can help with what to realistically expect.

Having said all of this, everyones adoption experience is different. While some love AGCI, I know many who walked away, leaving fees behind for another agency. Two families can have totally different experiences with the same agency.

I wish you all the best in choosing an agency and with your adoption!

Adoption is a miracle.
