Some struggles

Well, I really do want to finish our trip posts and tell you more about life at home but I seem to be having a hard time keeping my head above the water lately. Little Olivia didn't seem to get the memo in Ethiopia that her new family are extremely good sleepers and we highly value it......nope, Olivia seems to only want to sleep in 2 hour intervals which puts a bit of a damper on things. We are all doing fine and we are getting through it with some good advice from our international pediatrician and friends who have adopted before us. Just know that when you check my blog, or expect a call or email, or expect me to be anywhere on time, you might be waiting for a while since I might be taking a nap:) And please don't expect us to be wearing clean clothes since I am not sure when the last time I had the energy to do laundry!

You are right smack dab (some southern slang for ya this morning) in the middle of the hard part! Keep doing what you are doing...you guys are an amazing family! Get sleep when you can and know that even if you aren't doing much, you are actually doing exactly what she needs right now by being with her and helping her get settled into so much that is new. Hug! :)

I feel your pain on the sleep issues. We are finally after over 3 months home starting to get a night here and there where Noah tamirat will sleep for 5-6 hours straight. First month home i swear he was up every hour every single night and it was hard..there were times when i thought I would just lose my mind since i to value sleep greatly. Some how god will get you thru. As for clean clothes I think people should just consider them selves lucky if i'm not in pajamas.

I can't believe this is the first time I visited your blog since getting home! Maybe because I can't find any time in the day to do anything other than kid stuff!! On that note, Mo is waking from his nap. : ) So fun to look at your pics! You are a blessed mamma and you'll have more sleep when your older. : )

Oh that sounds rough. I can totally relate, we don't get sleep in my house at all. I have the opposite problem though, my bio son has not been a good sleeper since the hour he was born. Our Ethiopian daughter is a little better as long as she is sleeping next to one of her parents. The first day she came home she turned her nose up at the crib and insisted on being in bed with us. It was like she knew she had parents now and wasn't going to put up with cribs any longer. So I haven't really slept one full night long in almost 3 years and I don't really see an end in sight. Hopefully you guys will. Good luck!
